New kit w/matching freebie!

Holy neglected blog, Batman! I’ve got a lot to catch y’all up on tonight! Finally I’m back with a new release for Friday, and a matching freebie. Yippee!!! This whole month has pretty much been a wash for me on the designing front since my son hasn’t had daycare, but this past week I’ve been making some great progress. Guess I’ve gotten over my creative slump for the time being!

We’ll dive right in with the previews of my newest kit that I just released at Digital Candy tonight. This little gem was originally created as a mini kit given to everyone who participated in the first Speed Scrap that MickeyB & I hosted a few weeks ago. I loved working with this so much that I couldn’t let it stop there, so created a full kit out of it instead. Little Dreamer will be on sale for 25% off from now through August 15th!

Big welcome to Jolene (mighttyjomomma) who’s joined my CT within the past few weeks, and kind of jumped in head first! I’m really excited to have her as part of my team, and will definitely be sharing some of her awesome LO’s with all of you regularly

I would like to publicly thank Yvonne W & Renee (scrapper_gal) for being guest CT’s for me this past month! Next Speed Scrap:

Back to the Speed Scrap mentioned above – the next one is the weekend of August 15th (10pm EST) & 16th (8am EST). Michelle (Mickey B Designs) & I had such a great time hosting! I even managed to put together a few LO’s before the scrap was over, too. I’m going to post again either tomorrow or over the weekend because I have had quite a bit of time to work on more LO’s of my little guy that I’d love to share I’ve still got some LO’s to post of our trip back to New York at the beginning of the month, as well as the fun day Michelle & I had last week when Ben & I went to her house for the afternoon. This was the first time we’d been able to meet in person, and have plans to do it again really soon, too. I’m so excited that we only live a few hours away from each other.

The Tide is in…. new to my store!

I’m so excited to finally be releasing this kit! I’ve been working on this kit here and there for a few weeks now, and couldn’t wait to show all of you! Low Tide is packed with fun beach goodies and tons of beautiful papers, many created from a blend of original pictures and various digital techniques. 20 papers, and over 60 elements, with a color palette inspired from the gorgeous beach pictures that Yvonne W. provided for me to use in the creation of this kit.

Tomorrow was supposed to be the last day to snag my grab bag for $3, but I’ve decided to do something else. Happy 2nd Birthday Ben! Freebie Alpha, layouts & more….

Well, today’s the day! Happy Birthday to my little guy! We’re going to go to all of his favorite places today – including the library (he gets so upset if we drive past it  and don’t actually stop there…), the big playground (not just the small one closest to our house), and Cold Stone Creamery (ok….he may not care that much – but can’t pass on an opportunity for cake batter ice cream, right?!), and tomorrow we’ve got a full day planned for him in DC, as he loves hopping on the metro. The idea of my BennyMac kit began as being a train theme, but soon evolved into the birthday kit that it now is. I’ll be posting an add-on kit in my store next week consisting of the train items you see here, as well as some additional ones, too. This includes a full alpha (distressed metal, with a red bandana print – full lowercase letter set, punctuation, and 0-9), train tracks, RR crossing sign, train engine, boxcar, word art, frames, & more! A few of the items used in my layout are from the BennyMac full kit.  Everyone who submits a layout for my contest will receive this add-on kit for free before it’s even available in my store!

Page using my own kit!

This is officially my first scrapbook page using only elements from a kit that I created. Yippee! I’ve used a few self-made bits and pieces in some of the other pages I’ve done, but always incorporating elements from others’ kits as well. Here’s the page I created using my newly released “Wreck of a Day” kit -featuring my very favorite subject, my son Bennett:

I think my scrapbooking style is slowly evolving into a little more of a grungy, minimalistic one. I’m trying to focus more on featuring 1 or 2 really clear pictures (I’m a sucker for Ben’s pouty little cheeks!).
