In the works for NSD…

April 25, 2008 · 12 Comments

Well, I made it back safely from my girl’s weekend! Had a great time – got a great mani/pedi – and more importantly was able to spend some quality time with my BFF. Gotta tell you… girl talk is good for the soul! :) I came back totally refreshed and feeling incredibly creative! Which is a great thing for all of you! :)

NSD Events

With National Scrapbook Day on the horizon for next Saturday, I couldn’t be more excited! This is my first time actually participating, as this time last year I wasn’t really doing layouts, let alone my own designs. There will be lots of happenings at Digital Candy, so be sure to mark your calenders. I’ll be having a big sale in my store – celebrating not only NSD, but also becoming an exclusive designer at Digital Candy. I’ve got 3 new kits that will be hitting my store by next weekend – all at a very special price, for a limited time. One of which is a collab. kit with Mandy Mystiques, that I can’t wait for everyone to see!! First of all…. it’s HUGE!! I just finished my part of it – with over 50 elements alone. It’s got a very feminine flair to it… just in time for Mother’s Day. You’ll find tons of glitter in it too, since that’s my newfound addiction :)

I’ll be hosting a great challenge next weekend, with a great freebie that coordinates with the collab. kit, free for all who participate. Details of the challenge will be posted next week, as well as opportunities to win some of my new kits for free!

Melon Ball Friday!

As promised, here’s the next installment of my Melon Ball kit! This part is dedicated to HarleyGirl, who I promised I’d include some charms for :) This portion contains 1 new paper, 2 flower charms (one w/string, one w/chain), 1 triple flower element, 1 flower charm page border, and 1 beautiful bow, created with an action from Monica Larsen.

(**this freebie has been removed, and the full kit is now available in my Digital Candy store.  Come check it out!)

Here’s what the entire kit looks like so far:

Next weekend I’ll be releasing the final installments to this great kit, after which time it will only be available for a few more days until it will go into my store and no longer be available on my blog. If you’ve missed out on any of the previous portions of this kit, be sure to snag them while they’re still available (search the older posts to find the links….) The final installments will be filling in the missing pieces – tags, journaling spots, staples, photo corners, more flowers, and some more miscellaneous elements. Don’t miss out!

I hope all of you have a great weekend!

Part 4 to Melon Ball kit!

April 18, 2008 · 9 Comments

I’m heading out early in the morning and won’t be back online until Monday, so I wanted to get another part to my Melon Ball kit out to all of you to enjoy over the weekend! First off, one of my CT members, Kim, did such an adorable layout using items from previous parts to this kit, I just had to share. This was for a scraplift challenge at Digital Candy:

(click to leave her some love at DC, and to see full credits)

I’m so excited to offer you part 4 to this work in progress. Thanks to some tutorials, and to Flergs for her beautiful commercial use glitter style, I’m now stuck in glitter land and may never return! Be prepared to see a lot more of it in the future from me :) Here’s a look at parts 1 – 4 combined together in the preview so you can see how it’s all coming together:

(**this freebie has been removed and the full kit is now available in my Digital Candy store.  Come check it out!)

Stay tuned for part 5 at some point next week :) Thank to everyone for all of the great comments about this kit! and thanks to HarleyGirl, the next installment will contain at least a few charms! I happen to love them, too ;)

I’m off for a much needed “girl’s weekend” with my best friend in New Jersey. No husbands, no kids, mani-pedi’s, probably a few cocktails, & lots of girl talk since we haven’t been able to get together since November. Can’t wait!! Hope all of you have a fabulous weekend! I’ll be back next week with more news, probably a brand new kit for my Digital Candy store, and more to the Melon Ball kit. Enjoy!

Sneak Peeks… Freebies.. & news!

April 15, 2008 · 7 Comments

I don’t even know what to start with tonight! There’s quite a bit going on in my little corner of the ‘net that I’d love to share with all of you. I think I was a little overambitious with my ideas of having more than one store, given that I don’t have a heck of a lot of free time to begin with. So, I made the difficult decision of choosing which store to stay with, and have chosen to only sell at Digital Candy. I will only continue to sell at Stone Accents Studio through the end of this month. I’ll miss everyone at SAS, and it’s been such a great place to belong to. I think this is the best decision for me at this time though, and I’m looking forward to being able to devote more time to Digital Candy. I’m also looking forward to having more time to focus on my designing. Take a look below to see what else is going on! :)

Sneak Peek….

I have just completed my “Sweet Mulberry” kit soon to be released at my Digital Candy store. My CT has made some great layouts over the past few days with this kit, and I couldn’t wait to show all of you a few of them. Thanks so much ladies!!! I also had a chance to put together what turned out to be a really emotional layout for me, which you’ll see below:

Did She Know?
by Jenn (JenLin)

by Heather (~Heather~)

by Kim (kimbytx)

by Amber (southernmother)

by Kayre (KajunKJ)

Aren’t they just adorable?! This is the kit that I started during the last designer contest I entered, and gave away a few pieces as freebies during that time. Now it’s a huge kit, with a ton of different and unique elements, and I’m so thrilled with how it turned out. Will keep you all posted on a release date! There will be chances to win it for free, too! :)

Melon Ball…. part 3!

I’ve hit a groove with this little kit, and am really starting to have a final vision for it. This part is especially cute, now that you can start to see a little more of the overall style of the kit. The first two parts were comprised of mostly basics… now we’re getting into the heart of it! Anyone who missed the first two parts, they’re still available on my blog. Just check out the freebies to find the downloads. Again, if any of you have suggestions of something you’d like to see in this kit, please feel free to leave me a comment or drop me a note. You never know… it just might end up in this kit! :) Here’s the full preview of the kit as it stands to date:

*very special thanks to bsilvia for her fantastic collection of brushes at graphics-illustrations.com. She’s got wonderful collections of both free sets for personal use, and sets you can purchase for commercial use. In this part of the kit I used two of her brushes, and just love the quality of them. Thanks so much, Silvia!*

Hope everyone is having a great week!

So glad to be back!

April 12, 2008 · 3 Comments

Wow… it’s so very good to be back home! I told you in my post last weekend that we were heading out of town, and have been to New Orleans & back since then. This was the first time we flew with our 2 year old (and his car seat….stroller… most of his toys, etc…). What a pain that was – but he was such a little trooper. After getting up at 5am, sitting at the airport for almost 3 hours prior to our flight, and then being on a plane for 3 hours he was fantastic. Totally loved flying and entertained everyone sitting around us the whole time. Hope him being so cute made up for his non-stop kicking of the seat in front of us (sorry!).

New Orleans isn’t exactly toddler friendly, and neither was our hotel. My husband was there for a conference, so that left Ben & I to fend for ourselves each day. Did manage to have a fun trip to the aquarium as well as scarf down those delicious beignets at Cafe du Monde every morning.  We made the best of it though and throughout the whole trip Ben just kind of rolled with the punches. He’s the most laid back, flexible child I’ve ever seen, and I’m thankful for that.  I barely even checked my email while we were gone, so now it’s time to get caught up on things!

Last Day of Sale!

Today is the last day of my Grand Opening Sale at my new store at Digital Candy! My newest kit, Desert Gems, is available for 40% off, and the rest of my store is 30% off.  Here’s my newest layout with the Desert Gems kit: (thanks to ChrissyW for the great template!)

Here’s the latest addition to my Start Me Up Collection.. “Neutral Naturals” Paper Pack.  Get it on sale today!

Be sure to check back this coming week for news & updates.  Planning on another installment in my blog kit “Melon Ball”… previews of the kit I’ll be releasing very, very soon… layouts with pics from our trip… and maybe some more news! :) Hope everyone has a great weekend!

DC Sale Extended! and part 2….

April 5, 2008 · 7 Comments

We’re headed out for a mini vacation tomorrow and won’t be back until Thursday. This will be the first time taking Ben on a plane, so I’m hoping all goes well. Since our flight is right in the middle of his nap time, it really could go either way. He could be way overtired, refusing to take a nap and screaming… or the way I really hope it goes with him being really excited about being on an airplane at first, then falling into a deep sleep on my lap :) I can dream, can’t I?!

Since we missed a few of my Grand Opening Sale days when Digital Candy switched to the larger server, I’ve extended my sale until the 12th! Here’s the details again: (click the image to go directly to my new store!)

Build a kit on my blog….

My last post included the beginnings of the kit (“Melon Ball”) that I’m giving away for free on my blog. As I create a few items, I’ll be posting it here for all of you to snag! I know the first part was a little dull…. and you probably said to yourself, “what’s she thinking?!” – but stay with me on this… it’s getting better, I swear! When I first started on it I didn’t have a clear idea of what the theme/color scheme, or really any idea of where I was going to go with this kit. Now that I’ve made a few more items for it, I think it’s headed in the right direction. Each time I post a new part for you to download, I’ll also add a full preview of what I’ve got to date, so you can see how it slowly comes together. Here’s the combination of part 1 & 2:

(**this freebie has been removed, and the full kit is now available in my Digital Candy store.  Come check it out!)

I really hope that all of you enjoy this kit as its created! Hopefully I’ll have part 3 for you after I get back from our vacation. Have a great week!

My Grand Opening Sale at Digital Candy is back in full swing! From now until Saturday, enjoy 30% off of all of my designs in my new store! As an added treat, my newest addition - the Desert Gems full kit , which was used to create my sale flyer, is available for 40% off! This includes the paper pack, element pack, and the coordinating alpha, all for just $3.60! Snag it at this great price while you can :) You can also get the paper pack, element set or alpha on their own for 30% off during this time as well.

and a little something for you….

I’m putting together a kit for all of you that will be released sporadically in little installments. Since I haven’t designed the complete kit yet, I’m not really sure what direction it will take – just depends on what I’m feeling at the time :) The first installment includes 3 slightly roughed up papers (each slightly different), showing you the basic color scheme of the kit. Also included is a straight stitched line, and a 5″ x 7″ overlay – perfect for putting over or under a photograph, using as a journal block, or matte. Can easily be recolored or changed using different blending options. Be sure to check back for additions to this kit! Have suggestions for it? Feel free to put them in my comments, and you just may see it in future parts of the kit! Enjoy :)

(**this freebie has been removed, and the full kit is now available in my Digital Candy store. Come check it out!)
