Crazy week!

I want to apologize for not getting a freebie posted last week, but have plans for one at some point this week. I have been working simultaneously on 4 different kits – just haven’t been able to get the finishing touches on any of them just yet due to my husband’s chaotic traveling schedule lately. I’m keeping my fingers crossed to be able to get all of them finished in March! At least one of them has to be, since it’s in commemoration of my dear son’s 2nd birthday on the 14th! Mark your calendars for freebies & sales that week to celebrate!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! DH had a 3-day, so was great to get some family time in I’ve added a new product to my Start Me Up series at my SAS store – the Pastels Paper Pack. This is a collection of 18 pastel papers – 6 colors in 3 different styles. Each is a subtle tone-on-tone pattern/texture, slightly worn, some crumpled, each sure to provide great “go-to” option for your layouts when you’re looking for that perfect paper to tie everything all in together. Here’s a preview:

Happy Valentine’s Day!!… and a great deal!

I wanted to wish all of my “bloggies” a very Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope your day is full of love, family, friends…….and tons of chocolate! Just for today my Modern Love kit is on sale for 50% off!! I completely forgot to post about this yesterday, so sorry for the short notice. You can get the entire kit today for just $2.75 for today only!!  So far my Valentine’s Day is pretty uneventful. My dear hubby is on a flight back from San Diego, and should arrive just in time for a “romantic” dinner with me & Ben Ben’s at daycare at the moment so I’ve got an afternoon planned of cooking & a few last minute errands. Of course hoping to get some designing in, too.  I realized today that in exactly one month, my little guy will be turning 2. Wow. I’ve been trying to teach him to say how old he is… so far everytime I say “Ben, how old are you?!” his sweet response is “March!”. Guess that’s close….LOL. It’s at least closer than his response of “Five!” LOL.

Rusticana is in the store…. and a freebie!

I’m so excited that my new kit is now completed and is in my store. The full previews of Rusticana are shown below. It will be on sale for 25% off until February 17th! I am really proud of this kit and am really excited about how it turned out. I of course put together a freebie for this kit while I was designing it, which you’ll find below, too This is one of the few kits that turned out how I had initially envisioned it to look, which rarely happens. Usually I just kind of go with an initial idea with only sort of an abstract idea of how I want it to look. Rusticana is now completely how I pictured it in my head – rustic, earthy, with sort of an old world sort of charm combined with hints of Americana. This kit is richly textured, and worn in all the right places – keeping it neutral enough to work with just about any style of layout. I really hope you enjoy it!

Sneak Peek!

I’ve got so many ideas for new designs in my head, but finding the time to actually create them is another story. I really wanted to do a kit that was truly neutral – could easily be used for both genders, all generations, and still be beautiful and professional. “Rusticana” was born from that idea….. and I absolutely love it!! Personally, I think it may be my best kit yet as it’s very richly detailed and textured. This is a little bit of a departure from my usual style, and I can’t wait for it to hit the store! I’m going to show you a sneak peek of some of the details in this kit so you can get an idea of what it includes. I hope to get it into my store this week.  Here’s the details:

I’m in the process of working simultaneously on more additions to my Start Me Up series, as well as two other kits. I’m not sure which I’ll finish first – it all depends on what kind of creative mood I’m in. Hope everyone’s having a wonderful week!

Name that Kit Contest Winner!!…and a freebie!

Wow this was a hard decision! Ever try to weed through 179 different names?! I really appreciate all of the great name entries and all of you that took the time to participate. I painstakingly narrowed down the list to the following (in no particular order):

From this list, I then concentrated on what name stuck with me the most and I felt really represented what this kit was. I really want to thank everyone for the great suggestions! I started leaning towards all of the watermelon references, but kept coming back to the polka dots. The winning name is Princess and the Polka Dots, submitted through email by Melissa G.! Melissa, I’ll be sending you an email very shortly with your coupon so you can get the full kit (and matching alpha!) for free! Thank you so much for the great kit name – I think it’s very fitting
