I’m hosting the all new Speed Scrap at Digital Candy! I’m really looking forward to this, as they look like so much fun! The very first one is Friday night, at 10pm EST. Little late start for the East Coasters, but this was to try to best accommodate through to the Pacific Time Zone. For those of you that can’t make it to Friday’s, there is a second on on Saturday morning at 8am EST. I’m hoping that one of these times will work out for the majority of the people that would like to participate. Here’s the overview of how a Speed Scrap works:

Here’s the breakdown:
Dates/Times: Friday July 18th at 10pm (EST) & Saturday July 19th at 8am (EST)

Place: Digital Candy Challenges Forum

Overview: Beginning at 10pm (or 8am), you’ll be given some sort of direction for the LO you will be completing. The kits you use aren’t limited to just DC designers. Every 10 minutes for the following hour, you’ll be given another direction. These directions won’t be overly elaborate (you can bet I won’t be asking you to do an extraction….), but could be fairly specific, so it’s best to be ready for anything! What a great way to get some inspiration to scrap and maybe take yourself a little out of your normal comfort zone!

Once the first hour is up, I’ll stop barking orders and then you’ll have an additional hour to finalize and post your LO. Everyone who posts their LO by the deadline will receive the brand new ‘mini’kit’ that I’ve created. It’s a little more than a mini - but not quite a full kit - so maybe we’ll call it an almost grown kit? I’ll be posting a preview of it at the start of the speed scrap. A few other random prizes will be given out during the scrap, too!

I really hope that all of you can join in either of the times. I may be a little groggy for the 8am one until my morning coffee kicks in . Any questions, please feel free to get in touch with me, or post them in the DC forum. If you aren’t already a member of Digital Candy, but would like to participate - please know that registration in the forums is free! I’d suggest getting registered at least 1/2 hour prior to the start time so you can get all “settled in” before the scrappin’ starts!

We had a super time visiting with my family & friends back in NY last week, but are admittedly happy to be back home, too Besides the 8-9 hour drive each way, we were constantly on the go. I have a ton of pictures that I can’t wait to get started on scrapping but I seem to have absolutely no free time these days. I did manage to get 1 LO finished prior to leaving with part of my 4th of July freebie kit. I’ve just taken over the monthly Hodge Podge challenge at DC, and this LO was for July’s challenge. This is a picture of my DS & my 5 year old nephew. They’ve only seen each other a few times since we live in different states, but they really get along so well.

I really loved putting out so many new products last month, and hope that all of you enjoyed them, too! For the next few weeks, I cant’ guarantee how many new items I’ll have, but I am working on a few new ones simultaneously whenever I get the chance. How much free time I’m going to have to design is a little unpredictable for the next few weeks, but I’m working on things as I can.

Details of my first Speed Scrap will be posted over the weekend! I’m almost finished with the participation bonus I’ve been working on, too! Will be bloggin’ again sometime this weekend Happy Friday!

I’m very sad to say goodbye to Rachel, who has been a Guest CT with me for the past two months. I had the pleasure of meeting her in person at the GASC digital crop last weekend, too, along with Sandy, Bethany & Karen. *waves* “Hey Ladies!!!”  I am pleased to have another Guest CT joining me this month - Renee (aka scrapper_gal). She’s got a great style, and is so super sweet. Welcome, Renee!

I put out the word at DC to see how much interest there would be in doing a Speed Scrap on a monthly basis, and was really pleased at the responses. Sooo….. be on the lookout for more details on when, where & what when I get back!

We’re leaving for a vacation on Tuesday, so I wanted to get this posted early enough for all of you.  We’re going to visit my family, who we haven’t seen most of in over a  year, as well as go to my Dad’s retirement party. Since it’s a pirate themed party I hope to get some great pictures to scrap with when we return. Most likely I won’t have much internet access while we’re there, so wanted to wish those of you in the US a very Happy 4th of July! We’ll be celebrating my birthday while we’re gone, too!
